Celia, fixed media (1994) (5’)

This piece is an homage to the Cuban singer Celia Cruz. The sound files of “Celia” were created by mean of convolution, a computer music technique that uses two different sound sources. The final result contains aspects of the original sources. In this piece, samples of percussion instruments were used as impulse sound files. Other sound files were created by altering the time domain of some percussive rhythmic patterns derived from Cuban percussion instruments.
